Capitol Hill Ambassador
Allison Solomon: Like many of eDC's volunteers, Allison is a lifelong animal lover who watched, interacted with, and (when appropriate!) rescued all manner of fauna while growing up in Florida.
Allison moved to Washington, DC in 2008 and later earned a Master's degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University. Much of her research focused on transnational crime and conflict in Africa, and she saw how the very same networks involved in terrorism, narco-trafficking, and other global crimes were largely behind the explosive poaching crisis decimating African wildlife.
Not content to stand by and read about the collapse of these species, Allison attended the International March for Elephants in 2013 and has been an active member of Elephants DC ever since. Having interned for legislative research and advocacy groups during grad school, she is eager to bring her skills and passion to eDC as the Capitol Hill Ambassador.
Dedicated to elephant well-being & ending the ivory trade world-wide!
Love for elephants
When Allison appeared on Jeopardy as a contestant in October 2014 she highlighted the plight facing elephants on national television.
